Wadi el Rayan national parks: Located less than two hours away from Cairo, Wadi El Rayan is one of Egypt’s most famous nature reserves.The Wadi El Rayan reserve consists of seven parts; the upper and lower Lakes , El Rayan springs, El Rayan Falls, El Modawara Mountain (or Jabal El Modawara in Arabic), El Rayan Mountain (Jabal El Rayan) and Wadi El Hitan (The Valley of the Whales). All these areas are full of amazing landscapes such as oases, mountains, rock formations and waterfalls.
Lake Qarun: The Fayoum is a vast depression that contains a great lake in its lowest part called Birkat Qaroun ( Lake Qaroun ). This depression receives water from branch of the Nile that was canalized in ancient times,now called Bahr Youssef. This splits up into a dense network of secondary canals. Fayoum is usually refers to as an oasis, but it differs from the real oasis as it receives the water directly from the Nile.
Wadi el Haitan
Wadi El-Hitan museum is located near Garet Gohannam north-west of Wadi El-Rayan. There are 406 skeleton of primitive kind of whales in addition to the huge skeleton of the whale called the Lizard which was discovered in 2005.
The Museum of kom aushim and karanis
The Museum of Kom Oshim is located at the entrance of the Greaco-Roman town, Karanis. The museum was built in 1974 in an area of 280 * 160 m then it was expanded with 850 * 350 m by the supreme council of Antiquities. It was opened recently as part of the Antiquities ministry’s plan to develop and re-open museums that had closed, with a view to promoting domestic and international tourism.
